Day 1: Arrival - KuchingArrival at Kuching International Airport, meet and greet by our friendly representative and transfer to Kuching city tour: the perfect introduction to Sarawak's historical capital. This tour will bring you to Kuching's Oldest Street, Chinatown, famous Cat State, the oldest Chinese temple named Tua Pek Kong, State Mosque, Gambier Street, Kuching waterfront and the historical building during the White Rajah area like the Court House, Astana, the Pavilion, Square Tower, Charles Brooke monument, Post Office and the world famous Sarawak Museum. Then we proceed to the highest tower in Kuching call the civic centre. Proceed to local product shops for the famous Sarawak Pepper, bird nests and local pottery. Overnight in city hotel.
Day 2: Sarawak Cultural Village/Semenggoh Orang Utan "OR" Jong Crocodile Farm (B)Breakfast at hotel and then proceed to Sarawak Cultural Village: "See Sarawak in half day" is the claim made by Sarawak Cultural Village, the village also called "Living Museum" because natives live in its house & make handicraft. Walk through the trail & look out for Semi Wild Orang Utan in their natural habitat. An amazing experience meets with Wild Man of Borneo, who may come to the centre during feeding time.**OR**Jong's is the places if you fancy yourself as another "Crocodile Dundee" perhaps you just want to see some local fauna close-up! Jong's Farm is nestled among tropical fruit trees and greenery and is the haunt of over 1,000 crocs. In addition to these fearsome reptiles, visitors can view monkeys, monitor lizards and the odd python or two. Some leather goods and a small assortment of bric-a-brac is available for sale. Malaysia has its origins in the Malay Kingdoms present in the area which, from the 18th century, became subject to the British Empire. The first British territories were known as the Straits Settlements, whose establishment was followed by the Malay kingdoms becoming British protectorates. The territories on Peninsular Malaysia were first unified as the Malayan Union in 1946. Malaya was restructured as the Federation of Malaya in 1948, and achieved independence on 31 August 1957. Malaya united with North Borneo, Sarawak, and Singapore on 16 September 1963, with si being added to give the new country the name Malaysia. Less than two years later in 1965, Singapore was expelled from the federation.
Kuching officially the City of Kuching and formerly the City of Sarawak, is the capital and the most populous city in the states of Sarawak. The city covers an area of 431 square km and has a population about 165,642 on the north, while 159,490 on the south. If mixed, the total of the population are 325,132. Kuching is one of the two subsets of the Kuching Proper subdistrict, the other subset being part of the Padawan municipality. Kuching Proper is one of the three subdistricts in the Kuching District, which is one of the three districts in the Kuching Division.
Kuching has a tropical rainforest climate (Koppen climate classification), moderately hot but very humid at times and receives substantial rainfall. Kuching receives only 5 hours of sunshine per day on average and an average of only 3.7 hours of sunshine per day in the month of January (wettest month of the year). The wettest times are during the North-East Monsoon months of November to February and the dry season starts from June till August. The temperature in Kuching ranges from 19 degree Celsius to 36 degree Celsius but the average temperature is around 23 degree Celsius the early hours of the morning and rises to around 33 degree Celsius during mid afternoon but the heat index often reaches 42 degree Celsius during the dry season due to the humidity.
